The PMI Solo & String Quartet Program 2018 was an amazing experience for everyone involved, from students to teachers to staff to supportive parents. Check back soon for PMI SSQ 2019!
Our last PMI SSQ concert celebrated the magic of the string quartet. 36 students, hailing from Oahu, Maui, the Bay Area, China, Japan, and Taiwan, played the socks off the music of Beethoven, Schumann, Prokofiev, Borodin, and more. This concert was the culmination of more than a week of their intensive string quartet studies.
This program has been made possible, in part, with support from ACMP Associated Chamber Music Players.
PMI SSQ is an extended program designed for advanced string students, grades 6-12, who wish to further enhance their musical experience. An emphasis is placed on chamber music, private lessons and performance opportunities. This program includes the orchestral component, the PMI Core Program.
Non Hawaii residents will be given time to enjoy the unparalleled and inspiring beauty of Hawaii.
Led by program director Ignace “Iggy” Jang, the students are encouraged to thrive under the guidance of a nurturing faculty.
